2016 Animal Licenses Now Available

Animal licenses for 2016 are now available to residents of Clinton.  All altered and unaltered dogs, cats and ferrets residing within Clinton are required to have an annual license.  The license is now $10 for all animals, with a requirement to license before the end of 2016, both of which are changes from previous years.  According to Finance Director Anita Dalton, “we wanted to encourage people to license their pets, not penalize them for being a day late.”
Licenses may be purchased at City Hall in the Finance Department (1st Floor), 611 S. 3rd Street.  Residents have new options this year as well, including paying for the license on www.cityofclintoniowa.us, under Online Payments.  A transaction fee will apply.
Residents may also purchase their 2016 licenses through the Clinton Humane Society or Midwest Pets for Life and support the two organizations, which will receive $5 of every license sold.  The Clinton Humane Society is located at 1473 Main Avenue, and can be reached at 563-242-2457.  Midwest Pets for Life will be selling the licenses at their spay/neuter clinics.  Please email Midwestpetsforlife@gmail.com to find out where their next clinic will be held.
To license your pet, you will need to provide proof of a valid rabies license.  This is to ensure that your pet is up to date on the rabies vaccination.  A license cannot be issued unless proof of a rabies vaccination is presented.
