Snow Route Priority Maps
The city has 5 snow routes, annex route and the main roads route which are ran by the snow plows. One snow plow is responsible for one entire route.
A. Priority 1 - Streets that are hospital and emergency routes, marked snow routes, & primary highways under City maintenance.
B. Priority 2 - Bus routes and other major traffic carriers.
C. Priority 3 - Residential and other municipal service streets, including streets in commercial areas. Cul-de-sac and dead-end streets are typically done by end loaders and at the end of priority 3 category. There are approximately 120 dead-ends and cul-de-sacs.
I. Priority 1 streets will be plowed, and salted before Priority 2 streets, Priority 2 streets before Priority 3 streets.
D. Non-Priority - Alleys. The City of Clinton does not plow or provide other snow & ice control in alleys. When all streets are cleared, heavily traveled alleys in Central & Lyons Business Districts may be salted.
Calendar parking goes into effect when 1 or more inches of snow is forecasted.
-
- Even day park on even side of the street.
- Odd day park on the odd side of the street.
- At 6 am of any day dictates even or odd day.
- Cars have between 6 am and 9 am to move cars to the appropriate side.
- When a snow emergency is called there is no parking allowed on either side of the street along a snow route.
- Calendar parking ends 72 hours after the snow has stopped.
We would ask that the public not generate work tickets until after *48 hours* after the snow has stopped.
