The Iowa Water Environment Association, founded in 1927, exists today as an organization of professionals committed to the education and advancement of water quality and water pollution control techniques. The 600 plus members consist of educators, operators, engineers, regulators, municipal officials, manufacturers and equipment suppliers, contractors, and students.

Iowa Department of Natural Resources
The Iowa Department of Natural Resources oversees numerous laws related to water quality that protect the health and safety of Iowans, while improving Iowa’s water resources. From drinking water to wastewater, and from wetlands to septic systems, ensuring clean water is an important priority for Iowa.

The Iowa Rural Water Association, dedicated to enhancing Iowa's water and wastewater industries by offering professional training, education and technical assistance.

USEPA Wastewater Management

Wastewater management encompasses a broad range of efforts that promote effective and responsible water use, treatment, and disposal and encourage the protection and restoration of our nation's watersheds.  EPA's Office of Wastewater Management oversees the regulatory and voluntary programs that help manage our nation's wastewater.
