Special Events

For youngsters who can't get enough Dodgeball!  Come as a team of five players and get ready for two hours of active play.  As a courtesy, teams may register during Wild Things Fun Night on activity night or go to the administrative office at ECC and sign up.  Prizes to all participants.
   4th / 5th Grade Dodgeball            
     Location:  Ericksen Community Center (Lower Level)

    Date:  Nov. 6, 2021 and Jan. 15, 2022
    Day & Time:  Saturday, 6pm - 8pm

   Fee:    $5 per person at door (Doors open at 5:30pm)
   Limit:  3 Teams minimum - 8 Teams Maximum

   Middle School Dodgeball Night        
     Location:  Ericksen Community Center (Lower Level) 
     Who:   Middle School Youth ( 6th, 7th & 8th grade)

    Date:   Dec. 4th, 2021 and Feb. 5th, 2022
    Day & Time:  Saturday, 6pm - 8pm
    Fee:    $5 per person at door (Doors open at 5:30pm)
    Limit:  3 Teams minimum - 8 Teams Maximum


Upper elementary school students here's your chance to make your heart sing.  Bring a friend, request a song, enjoy karaoke, play games and have some refreshments.  Parents are welcome to stop in during this activity. This event is a lock-in once you come in, you stay until close, unless a parent or guardian enters the building to pick you up.  Supervision by department staff and volunteers will be provided.

                       18th Annual Easter Celebration April 9th, 2022!
(Rain date April 16th, same time)
Please join us for an afternoon of fun and celebration.  There will be separate hunts for the different age groups, with thousands of eggs filled with candy and prizes donated from the local merchants and the community.  Come and hunt or just watch and enjoy.

WHO & TIME:           1pm Meet and greet with Easter Bunny
                                  1:30pm - Hunt starts for kids ages 4 - 10.  The 4 year olds will start the hunt first with the 5-10                                         year olds to follow.  Each age group will promptly follow the following age group.
SPECIAL NOTES:    Parents are not allowed in the hunt area.

 Clinton 4th of July Festival
            Button Drawing & Coloring Contest

Join us at the Annual Clinton 4th of July Festival on Monday, July 4th on Clinton's Riverfront
Festival will include:
Parade, Music, Volleyball & Bags Tourney, Whiffle Ball, Children's Activities,
Quad Cities Strongmen & Women, Wrestlers, food and fun for the whole family!
Fireworks to follow the 6:30pm Lumberkings game at Nelson Corp Field

Contest  - Copy4th of july marching
1.   Coloring contest is open to children in Kind. - 5th Grade 
2.   Artwork may be in crayon, colored pencil or marker.
3.   Winner's artwork will be selected for the 2022 4th of July Festival Button!
4.   Winner's artwork will be printed on event T-Shirts!
5.   Only one entry per child is allowed.
6.  All entries are to be 4th of July themed and include the word "Clinton" and the year "2022" in your design.
7.   Winner will be determined by the Clinton 4th of July Festival Board.
8.   Winner will be based on most creative design (neatness is not a determining factor).
9.   Entries should be returned to the Parks & Recreation Dept. office located at  1401 11th Ave North,
      Clinton, Iowa by WEDNESDAY, MAY 25TH  (office hours are Mon. - Fri. 8am - 5pm)
10.   Winner will ride in the Clinton 4th of July Festival Parade!!


                                   PET PICTURES 
Pet professional photographer, James Perron, will take pictures of your pets on Saturday, November 20th from
10am - 3pm at the Ericksen Community Center by appointments only.  Appointments may be made by contacting
Judy May - Dog Obedience Instructor by calling 563-249-4132.  You will receive a 3"x5" and a 5"x7"
photo for the fee of $16.00.  Enlargements and reprints available upon request.  All posing challenges are accepted for single or group setting. This event is co-sponsored by Animal Birth Control.
