The Drive to Prosperity is a project that will enhance Manufacturing Drive and Bluff Boulevard in Clinton, Iowa to update numerous structures within and around this major area of travel. The enhancements will benefit safety, education, retail, manufacturing, environmental, and improving the quality of life in the City of Clinton on a roadway that has 15,600 vehicles on a non-school day.
The City of Clinton worked with McClure Engineering Company to assist with engineering services and grant application for $22.7 million grant from National Department of Transportation. The grant was submitted on July 14, 2018 and the City will know if the grant was accepted by December 18, 2018. Along with the grant application, numerous partners from the community are involved in this project. The City of Clinton is investing $3 million, Iowa Department of Natural Resources is investing $3 million, and Mid- American Water is investing $2.7 million. The project's total cost is estimated at $3.6 million.
